LR Light Rigid Truck Licence
A LR (Light Rigid) Licence is the next class up from a car licence. You must have held a car licence for at least 12 months to be eligible.
Any motor vehicle more than 4.5 tonnes GVM but no more than 8 tonnes GVM.

Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.
- Also includes any vehicle with a GVM of no more than 8 tonnes which carries more than 12 adults including the driver.
Pre-requisites
Applicants must:
- Have held a Class C licence (not a learner) for at least one year.
- Complete the Roads and Maritime Service Rigid knowledge test and obtain a Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) logbook and guidebook.
Course Duration
Applicants will receive up to 9 hours training and assessments time, however a 48 hours notice is required by Roads and Maritime Services for the final competency to be conducted.

- Final Competency Test
- Summative Assessment
